The Process

The Prep:

Every quality broomed concrete job starts with a solid plan and precise groundwork. At PureCraft Concrete, we begin by reviewing and discussing the layout of the pad to ensure it meets the needs of the space and any specific site requirements. Once the layout is confirmed, we excavate the area and lay a compacted base stone to create a stable foundation. We then frame the pad and add the necessary reinforcement—such as rebar or wire mesh—to enhance strength and durability. This thorough prep process ensures the concrete performs well over time, even in demanding outdoor conditions.

The Pour:

After preparation, we move on to the pour. Our crew expertly places and levels the concrete, working carefully to ensure the slab has the correct slope for drainage and a smooth, even surface throughout. We take the time to check elevations and edges, maintaining consistency across the entire area. This careful approach is essential for a strong, long-lasting slab that’s ready for finishing.

The Finish:

As the concrete sets, we begin the finishing phase. First, we tool all edges using a hand edger to create crisp, clean lines along the perimeter. Once the surface reaches the right consistency, we apply a broom finish by lightly dragging a concrete broom across the surface. This final step creates a textured, slip-resistant surface that’s ideal for outdoor areas like driveways, steps, sidewalks, porches, pool decks, and other outdoor living spaces. The result is a functional, safe, and attractive concrete finish that’s built to last.
